Lord…Thank You for Sunday - day of rest.

We went to church; Brent was the speaker at church. He gave a message on creation. He started his sermon with Genesis 1 from The Message. He ended his sermon with “God knocking on our door”. He did a great job. Too bad his voice recorder didn’t work. So I guess you had to be there. He had an interpreter for the whole message. Church was great! The congregation was on fire during worship.

After church we went across the street to Otino-Waa. We had lunch with our families. We had some fun in Circle 2 (that’s where our families were). The girls in Juliet’s house were showing her how to carry water on her head. I yelled out to make her carry the water. It all lead to Heather & myself learning and I had one of my girls go get Brent an he tried (men don’t carry water in Uganda). Then we got Alex. The kids and moms laughed so hard! We had fun.

I asked my girls to share their testimony. Wow! What did I do!? Some cried through their story, others wouldn’t even try. That was tough.

Time for some recreation. We had volleyball, parachute and bingo. Bingo was my thing in the map room. The kids had fun the winner would get tossed a granola bar or some fruit snacks. I guess the parachute was kind of crazy as you can expect. They had fun though. Heather was in charge of that, she ended up with sunburn. These were some of the games we brought with us, so the kids didn’t know how to play.

We had dinner at Bob & Carol’s house, pancakes, hash browns, pineapple & leftover pasta fagoli. We visited with their temporary neighbors Andy, Cammie and their daughter Keely. They are missionaries from Oregon also. We had a great visit.

The highlight of the day was when some of the high school kids presented their version of the Otino-Waa creed in song form. It was fabulous!! Carol and I had tears running down our faces. We had the kids dress in their best school uniforms and we video taped it for Dale to use in the United States.

“Lord what a blessing today was. How do you manage to out do the day before??!! You are an awesome God!”
Amen
